Monowheels, onewheels, electric skateboards – these popular and handy means of transport are still banned in Germany, unlike in other European countries such as Denmark, Belgium or France. The reason: they do not have a handlebar. However, boards without an electric drive can be used.
It seems incomprehensible why it is not possible to create a uniform regulation in Europe that allows the legal use of practical mobility solutions. Especially in the area of the "last mile" or when commuting to the office, small electric vehicles act as a sustainable gap-filler and a wonderful addition to public transport.
Electric Empire
As the Federal Association for Small Electric Vehicles, the association is committed to the legalization of all small vehicles, combined with the corresponding requirements that ensure safe participation in road traffic. We at LEVi support the project and advocate the introduction of a driving safety test for light electric vehicles. 👏
