On September 21st, at the finale of the European Mobility Week, LEVi together with Electric Empire hosted the first New Mobility Parade in Berlin.
With around 160 participants, it was a successful first start - after all, the Love Parade and the Berlin Marathon also started out similarly small.
In a good mood, the e-light vehicle drivers rolled along the attractive circuit over the Ku'damm, around the Victory Column to the main station and along Oranienburg in glorious sunshine, demonstrating the diversity of light electric mobility.
Monowheels, OneWheels, eBoards, eKickscooters, eCargo bikes, eBikes, eScooters and electric motorcycles from the eSchwalbe to the Zero were there. The 4-wheeled microcars, such as the Microlino, Citroen Ami or the Opel Rocks-e, particularly amazed passers-by. The light trucks provided by Ari Motors for transporting the sound system and a mobile charging station from Swobbee also attracted attention and created a good atmosphere from start to finish.
This new alliance of different interest groups is profitable because it ultimately has a common goal:
the sustainable transport transition with individual mobility for everyone.
This was the first time such a wide range of electric light vehicles had been presented at such an event. This was very well received by all participants as well as by spectators on the roadside.
In the run-up to the event, we conducted interviews with well-known mobility experts from politics and research. Stefan Gelbhaar, Member of Parliament and transport policy spokesman for Alliance 90/The Greens, complained that little was happening, particularly to improve CO2 emissions in the transport sector.
Electric light mobility is an important solution to this problem and the New Mobility Parade clearly showed that together, as an association of several interest groups, we can achieve much more.
A big thank you to all participants who celebrated electric light mobility with us on Berlin’s streets.
And for all of you who weren’t there: you missed something!
