On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, the IEA Task 50 webinar, initiated by LEVA EU, took place, which dealt with the current EU-wide state of vehicle technologies and production concepts for LEVs. Our cluster manager Torben Voelmy was there online and reports on the most important findings.
Regulatory requirements were also discussed:
The webinar has strengthened LEVi's own efforts to create a package of measures. This package of measures is to be used as a political demand to clearly communicate the needs of the industry to politicians and administrators. Best-case scenarios are currently being developed as to how LEVi envisions the transport of the future.
Input from all actors in the mobility scene is expressly desired. Anyone who has ideas, suggestions or concrete measures for us should definitely get in touch with us.
The workshop, which took place both online and on-site in Paris, France, provided a platform for intensive information exchange and discussions on the future of LEVs in Europe. Although LEVs currently still occupy a niche in the market, it became clear that their potential for more sustainable mobility is far from being fully exploited.
There was discussion about which networks and initiatives for LEVs already exist. A European example is the French Agency for Ecological Transition, ADEME. ADEME is actively committed to promoting LEVs and supported the development of light vehicles in France with 15 million euros in 2023/24.
